Naruto, Vol. 41 (Paperback)

In this volume Jaraiya faces off against Konan and Pain. He reflects on when he trained Nagato, Konan, and Yahiko. Jaraiya shows off a new technique sage mode and we meet two new characters, Ma and Pa toad. Also a prophecy was given to Jaraiya from the Great Lord Elder about Naruto and that he would grow up to be a pervert. Jaraiya also discovers more about the rinnegan and the secret behind Pains power. Besides the editing(which I hate) this is another great volume.

Naruto, Vol. 38 (Paperback)

I have been collecting the Naruto manga from volume 28 which, as far as the anime adaptation is concerned, the start of Naruto Shippuden. I have to say that I'm a little disappointed with Viz's editing habits in these volumes. For the purpose of this review I will only discuss the editing that is done in this volume, not the other ones.

Aside from some of the swearing being toned down there are two major incidents of editing done in this volume. The first being on the eighth page of chapter 347. Konohamaru shows off his improved version of "sexy justsu," to Naruto which involves two naked women holding each other.

In the original version you can actually see the women's faces and bodies, although even in the original nothing explicit is shown. In this version you can only see the women's silhouette's. There is another similar instance two pages later involving Sasuke and Sai in similar positions. Again, you can only see their silhouette's. This editing is a problem for me but not really a deal breaker.

The manga continues from where we left off in volume 37 with Naruto and company battling it out with an Akatsuki member. This particular volume contains a very important scene involving Sasuke and Orochimaru; it is so important that I cannot talk too much about the second half of the volume without spoiling everything unfortunately.

If you have been keeping up with this series until now there should be no reason why you wouldn't purchase this volume as well. Viz has included two bookmarks in this volume featuring Naruto on both of them. There are also bookmarks in volume's 39 and 40. Volume 41, however, does not contain bookmarks but stickers. As of this review 41 volumes of Naruto have been released in America and come April Volumes 42-44 will be released. At this point America will have all but caught up to the Japanese releases.

Naruto, Vol. 36 (Paperback)

While searching for a jinchuriki host in the Land of Fire, Hidan and Kakuzu happened to stumble upon Chiriku, a priest who used to be one of the Guardian Shinobi 12. The two Akatsuki defeated and killed Chiriku and are now looking to collect his 30 million ryo bounty to finance their operations.

Asuma, who also used to be in the Shinobi 12, sets out with Shikamaru and two other elite ninja to track down and kill or capture Hidan and Kakuzu. Meanwhile, Naruto continues to train with Kakashi and Yamato, struggling to master the art of making a "super rasengan". Even the ever-optimistic and driven Naruto is at the end of his rope and is thinking about giving up the attempt. He must figure out a way to change the form and nature of his chakra at the same time, something even the 4th Hokage could never master.

Volume 36 marks the first time we get to see the Akatsuki in action, well, I mean in a fight to the death capacity. I know Itachi showed up at the Leaf Village many volumes ago and had a minor battle with Kakashi, but I saw that as merely a brief skirmish. Yeah, I know, Naruto and his team also fought and defeated Deidara and Sasori. But all these battles have been cakewalks compared to fighting Hidan and Kakuzu. They're in a completely different league.

Hidan has the ability to curse his enemies and cannot be killed. He takes most of the lead in the battle against Cell 10, so confident is he in his abilities. Kakuzu helps Hidan a little bit, but otherwise takes no part in the actual battle. You knew back in earlier volumes that Naruto, Sakura, and Kakashi were not going to die fighting Sasori or Deidara, but when Cell 10 fights, being composed of supporting characters, there is more of a sense of danger. Somebody could get killed.

It's also cool to see Kakashi's faith in Naruto. He's giving the boy a full plate by asking him to master the super rasengan. He really believes that Naruto is special and could become not only Hokage, but maybe the most powerful ninja ever. Naruto has come a long way from the early volumes of the manga when he was seen as a village pariah. Now, he seems to be a vital part of Konoha's very survival. What a series!

Naruto, Vol. 29 (Paperback)

This is the second volume following the 2 year gap after the fight between Sasuke and Naruto and I must say that this series keeps on moving. I originally watched most of it in the original Japanese with subtitles, and although there has been some deviations in translation, the series is still highly entertaining and incredibly imaginative. I find myself racing out to pick up every new volume and I cannot wait till the next volume comes out.

In many ways, Volume 29 can be described as a series of smaller battles in preparation for some major confrontations. Kikashi and Naruto take on Itachi and Guy and his team battle Kisame. All of this takes place while the Akatsuke start extracting the fox spirit from Gaara's body.

For Naruto fans, this is a great volume, one that will leave you itching for more.

Naruto nosy and innocent. [Story of a small ninja from the village had been in the starting Konoha]

Naruto Indeed, whether what he thought of his actions ... silly. Early in the Hokage Monument scribbled paint wear. Shape of the faces of the Hokage monument exists, whose nose had been drawn more like a runny nose like a nose bleed. Lashes on the bottom add the paint, rather than just add pretty impressed like everyone was crying. then where it comes from the idea that Naruto? once so cocky people. Not to mention, he's just tying a rope belly to paint the monument. if the rope broke up .. never mind .. harm him.

Outside of that problem, whether it occurred in our minds, about how people build a monument Hokage Konoha village is. What did they build it using ninja tactics? Tai Jutsu, Nin Jutsu or genjutsu?

Perhaps in his day Naruto existing sculptors. So they who build the Hokage monument. And they make by using a chisel to carve and shape the faces of the Hokage. One sculpture carvings and then with the next so as to form the faces of the Hokage. It must be so cool that makes this the Hokage Monument. And surely the man has a soul of high art yan. Location of the monument that was indeed located above.

Naruto, Vol. 28 (Paperback)

This book is a great 2nd season start. It introduces the characters back after two to three years being a part. As Naruto fans read on.... It shows how each character changes, such as appearance, dealing with growing up and more responsibility, thoughts, Senseis or tutors and how their friendships become a stronger bond. Naruto fans will love this book.

I am amazed at how much boys and even some girls love these books. I have many requests for the books and I have to buy them for my classroom. They love them! My students are from Asian countries so Naruto is a big hit. They can read them online in Chinese, Japanese and Korean which is great. Then they can refer to them in English.

Naruto, Vol. 27 (Paperback)

The first half of Volume 27 covers the end of Part One of Naruto. We catch up on all the ninja's that took part in the Sasuke Retrieval mission, and we find out what all our favourite ninja's plan to do over the 2 and a half years before the timeskip. Then Part One ends with a chilling image of what is to come in part two.

The second half, however is what makes this book unique. It covers the story of how Kakashi got his Sharingan. A heartbreaking and yet deep insight into how Kakashi's personality was shaped to be what it is now. Any Kakashi fans will adore this story, however all Naruto fans will find the story enjoyable.

2 Thumbs up and a high reccommendation for people that have read the previous 26 books. Though I wouldn't reccommend anyone to start on Book 27 as it's the book following a huge climax.

My family loves Naruto. We have watched every episode up to the point where Hidan and his partner (forgot his name) go after the two-tail cat demon and have most of the DVD sets. We have aleady bought and are waiting on DVD Set 7 now. But, there is no episode that tells the story of Kakashi's sharingan eye, that I know of. Volume 27 does just that. My kids have a few of the manga volumes. But, this one tells what hasn't been shown in any of the animated episodes. It is a great read if you like Naruto and want to know more about Kakashi. We would like to see this volume become an animated movie like the lost story of the waterfall village, which we already have.

Also, my daughter has trouble reading and I would have problems getting her to read; but because of her interest in Narurto and her crush on Sasuke, she looks forward to reading the mangas and has been reading them religiously on her own. Thank you, Naruto.

Naruto, Vol. 26 (Paperback)

Volume 26 of this excellent exciting series contains the big fight between Naruto and Sasuke. Naruto, desperate to bring Sasuke back to Konoha will stop at nothing to accomplish his goal. However Naruto will find this difficult as Sasuke is obsessed with finding Orochimaru so he can gain a greater power.

This highly exciting battle is easily the highpoint of this great series so far. And the climax will have you holding your breath in anticipation.

Even if you haven't read the first 25 books, this would be an easy point to jump in and start as the book covers the climax of part one without relying too much on previous plots (with the exception of the Itachi flashback). However, to get the full enjoyment out of this I strongly reccommend you read all of this brilliant series.

It is here. The fight we've all been waiting for is in this volume. Next up shippuuden naruto in vol 28. In the anime however I think we got about 89 more episodes (fillers) to go before we get to the shippuuden. Although, honestly I think I prefer naruto as a 12 yr old. he's a bit more reckless and eger

Naruto, Vol. 25 (Paperback)

As Sasuke delves deep into his own past to reveal how his ideal big brother, Itachi, became the feared ninja he is today, Naruto is drawn into a bloody battle with his best friend. Naruto's about to find out that being close to an Uchiha brother could be his downfall in more ways than one.

Brilliant how Masashi Kishimoto used Sasuke & Narutos relationship "Brotherhood" and compared it with the relationship Sasuke had with his brother Itachi. Great reading!!!

Naruto, Vol. 24 (Paperback)

Rock Lee returns as Naruto once again chases after Sasuke. Plus, Kankuro, Temari and Gaara unexpectedly aid the Konohagakure against the Sound Ninjas. Could they be after something more than just rekindling the old alliance between Leaf and Sand?

Naruto, Vol. 23 (Paperback)

The fight rages on, still a continuation of the previous volume, but saving Sasuke is becoming even harder to pull off.

Kimimaro, who finally reveals himself, makes his comrades look pathetic. But still, he is not as menacing as he acts.

Naruto shares the spotlight with Kiba and Shikamaru as the three have their seperate battles to attend to. All three battles are thrilling. Kiba and Shikamaru, both, deserve more attention and definetley get it in this volume.

While this is a good novel... you can sense that the future is not pretty.

Naruto, Volume 22 (Paperback)

This volume of naruto starts where Choji is leaving his battle. As the Konoha genin chase the sound four through the forest to "rescue" Sasuke. They catch up to the sound four then Negi fights his battle against Kidomaru.
Okay, there is only one word to describe this volume; "Violence." Lots of violence. This is a very good volume, it contains awesome fight scenes, especially the Neji fight. If you come across this at the store next month, i encourage you to buy it!

Naruto, Vol. 21 (Paperback)

I'm a reader too, and i read the chapters via internet. But when i read the fan translated version of this, i was moved by the story of it, and i love the characters development, in my opinion this is a turning point in the manga.

After Naruto and Sasuke's fight, the sound four comes into town to try and take Sasuke to Orchimaru. But eventually, the sound four went away and give Sasuke a choice, stay weak and continue living in Konoha, or come with us and become stronger.

So this is all i can spoil here. But this is a really good volume. It has awesome drawings, a mind blowing story, and drama, drama, and more drama. So pick this book up today, and i'll review the next few volumes until volume 27 hits stores in dec

Naruto, Vol. 20 (Paperback)

The manga is much better than the animation series that you'll catch on American TV. Not that the anime doesn't have it's good points but you can't beat the original story (and it doesn't have filler episodes).

Naruto doesn't seem to be falling into the Dragonball Z series trap of ever increasing villians to fight (and fight....), it actually has a story and the author does a good job of keeping things on track.

A good series for most ages (only the very young should take care, there is violence).

Naruto, Vol. 19 (Paperback)

It's all-out shinobi war as Naruto, Tsunade, Jiraiya and Shizune take on Orochimaru and Kabuto in battle...with the final fate of Tsunade hanging on the outcome! Will her darkest fears finally become reality?!

Naruto, Vol. 18 (Paperback)

Like i said, it has potential.

I know i'm not the only one here. ANY female character in Naruto is weak/has-no-sense-of-moral/shallow/outmatched. Sakura, Ino, Ten-Ten, Hinata, Temari, Kurenai--you name it.

Now unviel Tsunade. Smart. Strong. Beautiful. Complicated past. A legend. Kimimoto fails to bring her to this height.

Smart? Yeah, in medicine. Spends her free time "investing" in large debts and often takes unnecessary bets.

Strong? Sure. Has super strength. Appropriate power for a tempramental women. Other than that, almost destroyed a whole village in order to bring her loved ones back to life.

Beautiful? Yep. Uses her jutsu to look younger than 50 (M.K. probably couldn't draw a middle-aged women).

See? Yeah, I've seen better.

Naruto, Vol. 17 (Paperback)

I'm surprised that with all the Naruto fans that no one has left a review yet. Well I guess since I own the manga and love it dearly I can give an overview [spoiler alert to those who have not read this manga yet]

At the end of manga 16 Jiraiya and Naruto set off to locate Tsunade and return her to the village to become the 5th Hokage. Jiraiya goes off somewhere and leaves Naruto alone in their room at the inn and two Akatsuki members show up at the room door. In the mean time, Sasuke, who has a personal vendetta to fill, rushes to find the Akatsuki members tracking Naruto, one of which happens to be Sasuke's older brother Itachi. A fight between Sasuke and Itachi [the first of few] takes up the first four chapters.

In the fifth chapter we come to find out Tsunade is a compulsive gambler and Jiraiya and Naruto are closing in on her location. In the sixth chapter Jiraiya introduces Naruto to the technique next on Naruto's to do list, The Rasengan. The seventh chapter is mainly Naruto coming up with ideas on how to pass the first part of his training. Eighth the difficulty increases for Naruto and we see his desire for a family he never had. And in the final chapter we see a plot conspiring in Orochimaru's lair. And Tsunade "the legendary loser" wins a line of sevens witch to her bodes misfortune.

Naruto, Vol. 16 (Paperback)

Death in the village! When the dust settles from Orochimaru's attack, the shinobi find that not everyone has survived. While the ninja mourn, an unlikely candidate is chosen for greatness, a long-lost ninja returns with a dangerous entourage, and Naruto finds his life in more turmoil than ever before.

Naruto, Vol. 15 (Paperback)

Naruto Volume 15 brings an excellent end to Operation Destroy Konoha, but also provides a major turning point in Gaara and Naruto's characterizations. Without giving away any of the plot, I can safely say that the volume provides a powerful (and tragic) insight into Gaara's past, as well as revealing how similar he is to Naruto.

The volume also provides excellent battles as the duel between Orochimaru and the third Hokage concludes, as well as Sasuke and Naruto both fighting Gaara at his most powerful. This is by far one of the most intense and climactic Naruto volumes, and displays Kishimoto's talent at it's very best.

Naruto, Vol. 14 (Paperback)

Product Description
Twelve years ago, a giant fox demon with nine tails attacked the ninjya village of Konohagakure. Defeated by the Hokage, the village champion, the mighty demon's soul was sealed into the body of an innocent orphan child, Naruto Uzumaki. Now Naruto is a 12-year-old ninjya in-training, struggling to be the best with his classmates Sasuke and Sakura.

As with all the other earlier books in the series, No. 14 does not fail to keep my 8 year old enthralled. His first read was non-stop until completed. He has since at least read another 5 times. A good "break" from other more serious books to keep the reading interest ablazed in a youngster.

Naruto, Vol. 13 (Paperback)

Naruto issue 13 is a good issue that Masashi Kishimoto has ever published so far. This issue is a good issue becuase this is the episode when Gara and Sasuke Uchiha fight it out in the 3rd exam. I like this issue because this is when Sasuke reveals the power of the Chidori: 1000 Birds. This move was used on gara when he was trying to do a jutsu that Sasuke sis not wont gara to do. While all of this was going on the other Hogage that was accompaning the 3rd Hokage took him hastage and he turned out to be the on the only Oruchumaru!!!

I liked this one better than the others because you got to see Orochimaru's attak. Temari wins the fight against Shikamaru in a stunning way. Before Sasuke and Gaara's fight, Sasuke appears with a flashy enterance, casually late. They find the amazing story of the chidori, or lightning blade, as Sasuke unleashes it. As Gaara trys to transform he gets hit with the chidori. During the fight, the sand ninja and Orochimaru attack Konoha, and the Chunin selection exams concludes with a bang. As Sasuke is pursuing Gaara, Temari, and Kankuro, Shikamaru, Sakura, and Naruto, with the help of Pakkun, are pursuing Sasuke

Naruto, Vol. 10 (Paperback)

yay Rock Lee uses Primary Lotus. but his body like screws up later... Naruto learns to use his Kyuubi, Kakashi later teaches Sasuke CHIDORI!!! but in the end, only Shikamaru gets to be a chuunin. Did i say too much?

Naruto, Vol. 12 (Paperback)

Naruto volume 12 is one of the neewest volumes out in america at the moment and it is about the first two fights of the chuunin exam,Neji VS Naruto is the first fight, the fight was really interesting and thee was alot of explanations in the battles,i would reccomend naruto to shonen jump manga readers as it is one of your typical shonen mangas,!

I LOVE the Naruto series! It rocks! All 11 before this were good. I have no doubt this one will be too! I have a little bit of an idea of what goes on from the dubbed anime on Youtube...
BUT I WON'T TELL!
Heehee, read and find out!

Naruto, Vol. 11 (Paperback)

WOW, this book was great. I really like the action and suspense in it. And if you didn't know, their is some romance going on. Well, i think that there are a lot more books comeing out awhile from now. I can't wait to see Naruto and his ninja friends grow up. I would definetly suggest to read this series to anyone that likes action, suspense, and heart throbing moments.(not just romance)

I know that at the end of #10, someone's toad killed Ebisu. The guy's name is Jiraya. Naruto demands for him to be his tutor. Jiraya say's yes (thought to be for Naruto's Ninja Centerfold). He teaches him to use the Nine Tailed fox's spirits energy. The preliminaries start.

P.S. Only one of the rookies get to advance to Chuunin. I won't say who cuz you won't believe me.

Naruto, Vol. 9 (Paperback)

This story Naruto, is about these 12 years old kids who want to become ninja.
The kids lived in Konaha, their village which is hidden in the leaf. I picked to write about the character, Hinata, because she is very shy and very, very nervous. I felt like the character in the book. I felt like I was at Konaha's battle arena fighting people from other teams.

Then I will watch my teammates compete. The theme of the book is about working hard, staying focused, and teamwork. I think this because the characters were on task and working hard while helping each other out and making them feel confident while fighting other people.

I think anyone who loves Japanese anima (Animation) should read this book.
It tells about the characters and what they are doing in the book and it tells who wins the battle and who doesn't win the battle.

I'v never written a review before, but for one of my fav authors, here goes;

Naruto. Now, this is what...volume 8? Oh my God, are we behind Japan! Japan is like on book 31! I just read chapter 284 yesterday in Japanese!
Well, anyways, this book totally rocks. Any parent might just say , "No honey, it contains violence." Yet they are depriving their kid of some sweet Kishimoto-ness! No, some sweet Naruto-ness!! *spazzes out*
The plot totally surprises many here, with a sudden twist. Yet you feel the throb of things to come, and boy, are there things to come
I hope everybody who buys it enjoys this, and I hope you like my review better than all those other critics *lol*
Arigato, oh, and Gaara and Sai are MINE. Lol. Sayonara, enjoy!

Naruto, Vol. 7 (Paperback)

The action continues as we get to see abilities of Naruto's peers, discover the darkness that lives within Sasuke, and the care and love within Sakura. Hang on tight, we're about to enter into the final rounds!

SUMMARY:
Choji, Shikamaru, and Ino do battle with ninja from the Village of the Sound in order to protect an unconscious Naruto and Sasuke and an injured Sakura. Their intentions are noble but their power is lacking and neither seems to gain the advantage. Sasuke awakens to find Sakura injured; enraged, he launches an attack on the Sound ninjas who harmed her. With his newfound powers given by Orochimaru's cursed seal the Sound ninjas stand no chance and Sasuke, drunk with power and rage, violently breaks both arms of one of the Sound members. Everyone is shocked and the Sound ninjas retreat as everyone contemplates the implications of this turn of events.

Sasuke, Naruto, and Sakura take three days to recover from their injuries and make their way to the forest's center on the final day in a desperate attempt to collect the final scroll to advance to the next round. They are captured in an illusion by another group also seeking a scroll, but are soundly defeated. They make their way to the center and advance their way to the next round.

Naruto, Vol. 6 (Paperback)

In this volume of Naruto, the second portion of the chunnin exam just started. This exam is being held in the Forest of Death, and the instructor Mitarshi Anko has promised to cut the number of called Orochimaru that is known for his evil forbidden ninja abilities and he's in the chunnin exam! Orochimaru wants something from Sasuke. But when the guards heard that Orochimaru was in the exam, they quickly sent out maximum security in the Forest of the advancing teams by half! Each of the teams are now turned against each other and they must use there fast cunning ninja techniques to collect the necessary scrolls from the other teams to past the test and to survive the many challenges that the forest brings to these young ninjas.

It's a matter of life and death in the second chunnin exam. Some teams may come out alive and victorious, while the other teams may end up dead. And if that's not enough, there's an imposter Death to find this Orochimaru. Too bad it was already to late, Orochimaru found Sasuke, Naruto and Sakura, but he mainly just wanted Sasuke. Orochimaru was destroying the three of them, only Sakura was barely standing.

Naruto, Vol. 5 (Paperback)

Cell 7 is getting prepared for the first round of the Chunin Exam to become journeymen ninja but first things first. Rock Lee challenges Sasuke to a one on one match before the test even starts! Naruto and company are a little intimidated by the assemblage of ninja at the Exam since a lot of them are not rookies like their team. Naruto almost wets himself when he finds out the first round of the Exam is a written test. We all know and even HE knows he's not exactly the brightest lightbulb in the room.

There are 10 questions with a value of 1 point each with the total points of each team being the combined score of all three members. What makes it a bit tricky is that the ninja are not told what score it takes to pass. If any team member gets caught cheating, 2 points will be deducted from each member. If you lose all 10 points you fail and will be asked to leave.

Sakura has no problem with the questions since she is the smartest on her team but Naruto and Sasuke are going to have to figure out some way to get the answers from other examinees without getting nabbed.

The reader is caught just as much off-guard as Naruto's team when you find out that the first item of business for the Chunin exam is a 10 question written test. I was expecting some sort of slam bang tournament in which fighters duke it out.

What Kishimoto is able to do in Volume 5 is to give a hint of each ninja's powers without giving too much away as they use their various abilities to cheat without catching the eye of any of the proctors. Well, actually, some do get caught, but nobody worthwhile. Kishimoto also introduces two important relationships. The first is that between Sakura and Yamanaka Ino, who appear to be rivals for the affections of Sasuke (even though he hasn't shown interest in either).

The second is that between Naruto and Hyuga Hinata, a shy girl that Naruto thinks is a freak, but she has an unuttered crush on him. Great character designs, art, and writing.

Naruto, Vol. 4 (Paperback)

"Naruto vol. 4" continues the fierce battle begun in vol. 3, against the ninja-hunting Demon Zabuza and his deadly assistant Haku. The stage is set with Sasuke slain, Kakashi literally mystified and Sakura learning her own limitations. As everyone knows, when things look darkest for a band of heroes...it is time for a little payback.

Payback is what you get in vol. 4, but not exactly in the way expected. Naruto, full of rage over his friends death, unleashes the power of the Nine-tailed Fox demon. Kakashi shows that he is more than the Sharingan Eye, using an innovative attack to overcome the loss of vision. Sasuke lies on the ground dead, and there is lots of weeping.

The real story, however, is the love and loyalty between Zabuza and Haku. Compared to this, the trials of the four heroes are trivial. Haku sees himself as a weapon to be wielded by Zabuza, and the true test of his loyalty comes when Zabuza's feelings are made clear. Its some powerful, emotional stuff.

Naruto, Vol. 3 (Paperback)

"Naruto Vol. 3" continues the storyline from Vol. 2, with Naruto, Sakura, Sasuke and their teacher Kakashi defending the bridge-builder Tazuna from the assassination attempts of ninja-killer The Demon Zabuza and his companion, the beautiful but deadly Haku.

After their brutal battle in Vol. 2, Kakashi sets the trio a stern task designed to strengthen their chakras and develop their ninja powers. Naruto, the weakest of the three, shows his strength of will as he struggles day and night to best Sasuke's accomplishments. This single-minded focus develop's Naruto's character as much as his chakras, as he slowly hardens and changes from the selfish blowhard of the first volumes. Along with this, he develops a relationship with a small boy from town, Inari, who learns what it means to be a hero.

While this self-development is all good and well, the real story begins when Zabuza and Haku attack again, facing off against the stronger, re-grouped trio. However, the demon and his companion have been training as well, and Zabuza has learned the secret of Kakashi's "Sharingan Eye," and how to defeat it. Haku has secrets of his own, and Naruto and Sasuke are powerless against him.

Naruto, Vol. 2 (Paperback)

"Naruto Vol. 2" finds Naruto, Sakura, Sasuke and their teacher, the one-eyed Kakashi, on their first "real" assignment as Genin, or Junior Ninja. (After having passed Kakashi's test to be full-fledged Ninja, of course!) The foursome are hired to protect Tazuna, a gruff and unfriendly bridge builder from the Land of the Waves. Tazuna is being hunted by The Demon Zabuza, a fearsome outlaw ninja who slaughtered his entire graduating class from The-Village-Hidden-in-the-Mist.

Volume 2 expands on the themes brought up in Volume 1. Naruto is still an almost unlikable brat, but his potential comes out more and more. Kakashi serves as a teacher both to the reader and to Naruto, Sakura and Sasuke, unfolding tales of the Chakras, the Kage ninja leaders, and other essentials of author Kishimoto's ninja fantasy world. The secret of Kakashi's hidden eye is revealed as well in an awesome battle with The Demon Zabuza.

Everything really starts to take off with this volume. The stage has been set, the characters have been established, and now the ride begins.

Naruto, Vol. 1 (Paperback)

Naruto, you could say at first glance seems like a tyical shounen manga... a loud-noisy-misbehaving-and-mischievious protagonist, lots of action, fast-paced plot and humor abound. what makes it atypical is that beneath the brash exterior is the hidden soft center. face it, naruto is a bleeding heart in disguise.

Naruto is an orphan with a mysterious past who is known as the #1 troublemaker in the shinobi (ninja) village of hidden leaf. the story starts of with him in the midst of a prank, much to the anoyance of the villagers. what we don't know (yet) is why he finds it absolutely imperative to do so... resulting in his behavior. mysteriously, nearly all the adults of hidden leaf is cold and antagonistic towards him, which inadvertently results in his seclusion even amongst kids his age. it doesn't help that naruto isn't exactly the average high achiever at ninja academy, in fact, he has always been the last in his class.
